Evolution of the Poppies Canvas Painting into a Mixed Media canvas

So I had alot of fun painting these poppies after the Acrylic Paints I didn't like it.

So...

I added Pan Pastels to the flower first..

Then around the flowers.

But it still wasn't perfect...

So... what to do!   I mixed Media Art Journal It.

Out came the rubber stamps - stencils - Washi tape - Modeling Paste - Packing tape - bubble Wrap and paint brush.

I can't tell you if it's done yet - but it's for sure getting closer!!

Hope you enjoy please as always I love comments and your free to share.

Mixed media - Art Journal - Inspired by Another Artist.....

So I love Instagram...  Love looking at all the art that you can see on it...
And one of my favorite artist is Ady Almanza

She is amazing...

I saw this post from her.

And then I was playing around on Pinterest and saw this saying.. and bingo I started playing.

Don't waste words on people who deserve your silence.  Sometimes the most powerful things you can say is nothing at all.

I loved that saying...  Below is what happen.

Used my pencil and sketched out the outline..

Then started playing with my Montana Paint Markers and filled in the hair... and details.

Close up

Then grudged it up a bit by adding water color and pastes on top.

My Pentel White Pen..  Alot more detail with Pitt Pens.

I really love how it came out - the pastels they bring so much to the painting...

I hope you enjoyed this step by step....
Sometimes I get so into what i'm doing I forget to take the photos.

Please feel free to share - and I hope you follow me.

And I love comments

Mixed Media - Art Journal Doubt Kills More Dreams... Watercolors

Here's an Art Journal - Mixed Media .

Doubt kills more dreams then failure every will.

This page started out just playing with Pastels...
Then adding Oil paints Sticks - never used those before - Just using my fingers.

I love playing with hearts - and drawing them.

Started out with watercolors.
Then laying Pastels over them and rubbing it into the paperwork with my finger.

You can see how it gets brighter...

Sorry but once I started drawing I got on a roll and didn't stop until I was done.

Started with Black Acrylic Paint
Then grabbed my Pitt Markers one it was dry

What I didn't like was those oil sticks it's hard to do anything on top of - so only add that at the end.

I hope you enjoy the blog post and please feel free to share and comment.

I hope you follow me.

Thank you

Pinterest and YouTube are amazing tools...

Mixed Media Journal Page 2-18-13 Learning to Heal

So this is a page from my heart....  I did the beginning of the page when my husband and I separated...  I just wrote out how I was feeling - was very angry, hurt, upset...

These last few weeks we have both been trying hard to fix things... so Monday night I actually felt moved to change the page...

This was just using Gesso on the page, then using a few stencils and Dylusions Sprays
Alot of dripage
And then writing these words with India Ink

I then took some acrylic paint and started painting over the page...  Of course realizing very quickly how deep India Ink is going to stay on the page.

So I pulled out the Chicken Wire Crafter's Workshop stencil - and Pan Pastels - and started having some fun.

I then pulled out another stencil by Crafter's Workshop Aspen Trees
And used 3 different colors of Pan Pastels
I also just used a few Tattered Angels - Glimmer Screen Winter Trees and used the black Dylusion Sprays

Pulled out the book and scissor and cut some shapes - and then used Modge Podge and glued them down.

Then painted some blue acrylic tape down and used a paper towel to pull some of the paint off.

Taking out my black market and highlighting those pieces - and then using my bubble wrap with white acrylic paint -and I really loved how it started looking at this point.

Then I took out my stencil by Dyan Reaveley's 9x12 Chequered Dots

Outlined the board in black Pitt Bold Markers - and then went over it in Black paint.

And used the alphabet stencil and wrote out
Learning to Heal
Forgive

And then used my white pen to outline it so it stands out.

This was something that really came from the heart...
I hope you like it...
And please comment and share..
