Evolution of the Poppies Canvas Painting into a Mixed Media canvas

 So I had alot of fun painting these poppies after the Acrylic Paints I didn't like it.

So...

I added Pan Pastels to the flower first..

Then around the flowers.

But it still wasn't perfect...

So... what to do!   I mixed Media Art Journal It.

Out came the rubber stamps - stencils - Washi tape - Modeling Paste - Packing tape - bubble Wrap and paint brush.

I can't tell you if it's done yet - but it's for sure getting closer!!

Mixed Media - Art Journal 4.16.13 Don't Believe Everything You Think.... You can change

So really enjoying letting go and trying to draw...  

This piece started as a fun finger painting.

Then having some fun with a flower (Making Memories) flower Foam Stamp

Then tried my hand at stamp making...  (Heart)...  First time carving it after doing alot of studying youtube videos... It was fun...  Will be doing it again for sure.

After alot more painting... Got the Making Memories Foam alphabet out and stamps the words.

Used the PITT Bold Black Pen and outlined everything.

Got my paint brush (Thin) and filled in the shape...

Colored the a few hearts in.

Really enjoyed making this page..

Now I'll be gone .... Getting packing and ready to hope a plane to North Carolina to take Donna Downing Inspiration Weekend Class - and let me tell you I can't even contain myself I'm so excited.

Thursday at 1:00 pm can't come fast enough for that plane ride... I'll probably get to the airport at 10am just because i'm so excited...

I'll take lots of photos - and learn alot.. and can't wait to art journal with all that I learned.

Did a new Mixed Media Journal Page

I did video tape this page - just working on editing the video and will have it up tomorrow.

Some up close shots of these pages - I used a TON of supplies.

Acrylic Paints, Prima Flowers, Stencils, Stamps, Masking Tape

Dylusions Inks, Stickers, Paper Doilies

I did this page a bit different after my art class this week - they taught the layers... how important the layers are in building pages.

Mixed Media - Journal Page Rainbow Fun

So here's a page I worked on friday that came out totally different then I started thinking about it.

So I did this in my Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Creative Journal

Then I used my Dylusions Ink Sprays.

My favorite Colors...  Crushed Grape, Cut Grass, Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest and London Blue and Black Marble

I also used acrylic paint (green, and pink) with the Crafter's Workshop Stencil 12"X12"-Cubist

I also Used White Paint on bubble wrap and pushed that on the pages.

And used the large Rubber Stamp background with Black Ink (clocks)

And also used the large rubber stamp background scrip

Also took a piece of black screen (from Home Depot) and then used the Black Marble Dylusions Inks Sprays over it.

I also used Around the Edge Dylusions Rubber Stamps

I then also stamped with Donna Downing Stamps insightful meadow stamp set

I also then colored in the leaves with Paints.

And then covered it with Ranger - Glossy Accents

And finally - used Dyan Reaveley's Stencil Chequered Dots

Mixed Media - Journal Page - Time Will Pass

So this is my Journal Page from yesterday that I worked on...

After spending the day with my family...  This is the thought that has come into my head.

All things good or bad will pass.  So when it's bed just wait it will get better.

Did this in my Mixed Media Journal Book

I gesso the page

I then put down the Crafter's Workshop stencil  12"X12"-Cubist

Laying it down and then sprayed with my 

Favorite product - Dylusions Ink Sprays

I also used a 2 Rubber Stamps I got from Michaels

a large background stamps - with Clocks on it

and the other Large Background stamps with script words

I then hot glued down Burlap to the page - 2 different colors - Lime Green and a aqua blue I got at Michaels.

I then glued down these chipboard clock pieces that I have had forever - not sure of the brand.

Put down a few crystal buttons I had as well.

I then put Glue down on the page - and put textured sand - colored on it.

Used Washi Tape

and

I then used Ranger Staz On Black Ink Pad

using the stencil mini chicken wire.

And then put letters glued onto the page - not sure of the brands.

Scrapbooking Weekend... September 2012 - Hammer Surf Camp

So did a weekend scrapbooking event - and had a blast - and got so much done..

I got to scrap the photos from the summer - where my amazing daring daughter Nicole learned to surf

At the Jersey Shore - taught by amazing people at Hammer Surf Camp.

I got paper from Michaels not sure the name that I'm not sure of the name - it looks like Handmade paper.

I backed them all with Stamping Up Blue Paper (not sure the color) this was done way before I was ever thinking about a blog...

So I love how this page came out...

You can see how far I have come over the last 4 months...

I gesso the page in my mixed media journal book

I used Dylusions Sprays Inks... (LOVE THEM)...

Then I painted a bit with Acrylic's on top.

I then pulled out my Block Alphabet stencils - and used the Black Dylusions Sprays on top..

I also used a few more stencils.  with different colors.

Used my rubber stamps to do the words

And the Butterflys

I used an empty Toilet paper roll - dipped in ink and stamps on teh page.

Used Faber Castell Gelatos to fill in a few of the circles

Black Sheer Trim Ribbon That I got from Etsy by the store ATHINGFOR BLING

And finally I put india Ink and alot of drips down the page..

January - Journaling Project.

So below is  a mixed media journal piece I did when I was really missing my mom.

I gesso's the page

and then did alot of painting on it - using Golden paints..

Used Tim Hotz's From Ranger - Tissue Tapes

Used a few rubber stamps - didn't right down the brands Sorry need to work on keeping track.

Used foam stamps then painted them - and outlined them in Black Marker.

November 2012 Journaling

So since this Blog is new - I decided to just add a grouping of my journaling that I have done for the month of November.  This was the first time I have ever done anything like this before.  After finding it on pinterest.com - I feel in love.

Decided to do something about our family names.

One for my daughter who learned out to surf this past summer at the Jersey Shore.

A page that I did about having faith - and keeping the faith.

Used a whole bunch of techniques that I had look at on Youtube.
